I am resonsible for my family of 7, including my parents and siblings. They are depending on me for their survival–food, shelter, water, medicine, and supplies. Do not underestimate the impact your donation can have for us–it may be the difference between securing a bag of flour, or not…affording nylon tarps to keep the rain out of our tent, or not…
After our beloved family home was destroyed and our horse (our only remaining source of income and transportation) was killed, we were displaced countless times. Exhausting is not a strong enough word to describe displacement. Scrambling to pack our remaining belongings into a vehicle (if we have the money) or carrying what little we can on our backs, we usually flee under immediate threat of bombardment or gunfire.
And now that it is winter, the cold wind rain get in through the tears in our tent, chilling us to the bone as we sleep. Unfortunately, we don’t have sufficient clothes or blankets, either. This puts us at a huge risk of illness, which can be expensive–or even deadly–down the line.
We struggle to remain stable–I won’t even use the word “healthy” because this is impossible. Whether it’s respiratory problems from cooking over an open flame each day, the lack of sleep due to cold and fear, the starvation, or the lack of sanitation that causes diseases — we are fighting for our lives every moment. The ONLY thing that can improve our conditions right now is funding.

Muomen’s family’s home is entirely rubble, and what’s more–it lies within the designated “buffer zone,” which means his family cannot return to their land without risk of being shot and killed. Muomen’s family STILL needs their most basic human necessities (food, supplies, medicines), plus Muomen needs to repair his phone (absolutely essential for life both in and outside of Gaza). But what he ultimately must do is TRAVEL. When the Rafah Crossing is open for regular civilians, Muomen must be ready to leave. Why? Because he MUST. GET. A. JOB. This is the first step to independence and autonomy for himself and his family. They don’t want to rely on donations. They want to rebuild their lives on their own terms. There will be travels costs – transportation, fees, potentially a huge fee to simply exit Gaza. And of course, food, clothing, etc. Please support Muomen, a young man who just wants a life for himself and his family. Let’s show him that his dream is still within reach.
